PhD Scholarship in Theology and the early Irish Church, Loyola Institute, Trinity College Dublin

The Loyola Institute is pleased to announce a funded PhD scholarship focusing on the early Irish Church and its theology. This area of study, in particular its theological dimension, is a fruitful and promising field for innovative and exciting scholarship.

The scholarship will cover academic fees and offer a stipend of €13,000 per annum for four years. Some funding will also be available to help with travel for research, or to conferences.

The successful applicant will be expected to show a strong commitment to research in the fields of theology and/or in some area of medieval studies (history, languages and philology, or archaeology). If the student is lacking expertise in either of these areas, they will be facilitated to complete appropriate modules from the MPhil in Christian Theology, or from the MPhil in Medieval Studies.

– Curriculum Vitae, to include contact details for two academic references – Typed research proposal (1,000 – 1,500 words)
– A chapter from a Master’s Dissertation or a published article.
