Job Opening-Visiting Asst. Professor of NT & Early Christianity, John Carroll University

John Carroll University’s Department of Theology & Religious Studies seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor of New Testament & Early Christianity. Qualified candidates will be able to teach introductory courses in New Testament and early church history as well as upper- division and master’s-level seminars in the individual’s area of expertise. Ability to contribute robustly to an interdisciplinary minor in Catholic Studies and a graduate certificate program for theological educators is expected. Area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to candidates conversant with traditional historical-critical methodology as well as contemporary feminist, womanist, mujerista, queer, liberationist, and/or post-colonial approaches. Ph.D. in hand at time of appointment is preferred.

This is a one-year visiting position, renewable up to three years, with a 4/4 teaching load (typically two preps/semester), modest committee work, and no advising responsibilities.
